Which page are you viewing? One Tibe Rx and One Tube TX and Power supply
Comments: Good Afternoon from UK Guys, Thank you for a most enjoyable web site. Great to see the old vacuum tube /Thermionic valve circuits alive and well. I really must get around to building some. I have managed a couple of tube kits which are available here in UK. At 72 years and retired for almost 11 years, I have no excuse! During my Army service I even trained on valves as transistors were just coming in. (1964 to 1972 as a regular and 1972 to 1984 as a reservist) I have a lot of family in USA in California and Oregon so always feel close to any USA website about radio. Very Best regards to you all, Gary

Which page are you viewing? L tuner
Comments: Hi, I am working on one and only have a 320pf 1930 vintage variable capacitor. Coil I'm using is an air coil. I did the same setup with the Ameco AC-1 but get a little buzzy note on the receiver vs using other tuners.. I will try it on my homebrew shortwave receiver tonight... I was thinking that if the value of the capacitor has something to do with the slight buzz even though the SWR was down 1:1 and the full watts was out. If that's the case on using a 500 and some variable then I'd have to get one or place 2 of them in series.

Which page are you viewing? 6L6 transmitter
Comments: I built and used the same 6L6 transmitter and 5U4 power supply with a 300 ohm 40 meter dipole as my first novice rig in 1968. The schematic came from a Popular Science Project (I think) book circa 195? and I used toilet paper rolls for the coil form. Brings back memories. Had my first QSO with that same rig. thanks,

Which page are you viewing?
