Wow, your 6DQ6 transmitter looks beautiful. All of my transmitters have been built with 6L6 tubes except for one "spy" set using a 1G4 tube with one watt output. I built a complete 80 meter station into four French wine boxes that when packed up would look totally innocent in the back of a horse drawn cart as it was being pulled past a Wehrmacht checkpoint in northern France in 1944 : ) I donated this set to the Antique Wireless Association when I moved to Florida in 2014. I am finally back on the air as of 1/1/2017. Looking forward to building with tubes again and was checking out your excellent projects. 73s, Randy KB2PLW

I bought the transmitter in 1968 from a local electronics parts store for $14.95 in kit form. I built it and it worked just fine. I put it in a box and stored it in the garage till 2015. replaced the tubes and it still works. This was a good starter kit. I wish Heathkit was still making ham radio kits.

Just completed a 6L6 transmitter based on what you have on your web page. I don't remember the exact circuit I used back then, but soon after I got my novice license in 1976, my first transmitter was a homebrew 6L6. It's wonderful to do it again 40 years later. This latest version of mine looks better than my first one 40 years ago, and probably works better. I've made almost a dozen QSOs on it and everyone is delighted by how it sounds. See my http://qrz.com/db/wb5uaa page for pictures of what I did. Thanks for your web page! Guy WB5UAA
