Which page are you viewing? 6L6 XMTR
Comments: Watching a show abt wartime Europe, and how the Nazis collected personal radios from the populous. Someone said, "Why did they do that ?"
In return I explained how receivers had the parts in them to be used as a transmitter... Using the power tube (a 6L6 for example), the power supply and an improvised code key, and here you have it all drawn up!
Thanks for the support of my knowledge. Young people familiar w/

Which page are you viewing? hartley tube transmitter
Comments: I remember back in 1951, I build this in the shop in school. Those days will always be remembered. It was so cool building electronic projects on a nice wooden board. It just seemed like a personal thing for me. I also built a 2 tube receiver which worked rather well on 40 m. That was when parts were so easily available and get most of it at surplus stores. Over the many years I have been a ham, I built a lot of stuff, mobile and fixed. I remember when Heathkit was a dream for me and built many kits. It's too bad that kits are not offered any more unless you do home brew.

Which page are you viewing? 6DQ6 transmitter
Comments: Wow, your 6DQ6 transmitter looks beautiful. All of my transmitters have been built with 6L6 tubes except for one "spy" set using a 1G4 tube with one watt output. I built a complete 80 meter station into four French wine boxes that when packed up would look totally innocent in the back of a horse drawn cart as it was being pulled past a Wehrmacht checkpoint in northern France in 1944 : ) I donated this set to the Antique Wireless Association when I moved to Florida in 2014. I am finally back on the air as of 1/1/2017. Looking forward to building with tubes again and was checking out your excellent projects. 73s, Randy KB2PLW

Which page are you viewing? Ameco AC-1
Comments: I bought the transmitter in 1968 from a local electronics parts store for $14.95 in kit form. I built it and it worked just fine. I put it in a box and stored it in the garage till 2015. replaced the tubes and it still works. This was a good starter kit. I wish Heathkit was still making ham radio kits.
