Comments: This has been interesting info I built an ameco ac-1 transmitter in the 60's and it worked well. I found it in my attic and restored it just last month.
Thanks for the good memories.

Which page are you viewing? 1 tube receiver
Comments: I built my first 1 tube receiver when I was 7-9 yrs old and loved it. It came from Boys Scout and it really worked great. It used a D battery and a 22.5 volt battery. Also, it used a 1T4 tube. I will try soon to build your version and will let you know how it works for me. The tickler slid over the coil form and worked great.
Many Thanks ki4ixs Sandia Park, NM

Comments: Very nice construction, it looks like the old days when people were building their own equipment and soldering was a art in it's self. Finding the parts was the fun thing to do and having it work when you were done putting all the parts together.
Best wishes

Comments: Nice rig! Good job with it. The Ameco AC-1 looks a lot like the single-6AG7 transmitter I built as a Novice. I got it from the '57 RAH but it was originally described in a 1953 QST article. I still have it, and am working on it now.

Comments: Great website. Since the last Classic Exchange on-the-air CW event I have the "bug" to build some good ol' fashioned tube gear. Not sure where I'll start but the text, photos, and drawings on your site will make life pretty easy!
Thanks & 73 Barry K6RM
